Two Cable Carriers installed on each telescope

On the 12 telescope antennas, 131 high-sensitivity cables run from the centre of the telescope. Here, two Cable Carriers were installed on each telescope for both the pole axis and the declination axis. The antennas rotate on two axes for which they can remain continuously focused on a single point in the universe. Challenge was the limited space and rotations over both the polar axis and the declination axis. 131 cables were pulled through each Cable Carrier, which were then further routed through the telescope antennas to an electrical housing. The special Cable Carriers for the antennas to guide the entire cable package were developed by Wisman Techniek.

For the sealing and routing of the cables in the electrical housing, Wisman Techniek supplied so-called cable transit systems.
