Challenge
The Maeslant storm surge barrier, one of the largest storm surge barriers in the world, requires constant reliability and operation under extreme conditions. The installation of new Cable carriers necessary to properly protect the cables from seawater conditions. The complex cable package could not be disconnected, which required installation on site. In addition, the entire process had to take place within a short time frame, as the work was dependent on fluctuations in the water level of the Nieuwe Waterweg.
Approach
Wisman Techniek has Cable carriers specially designed Cable carriers , constructed entirely from stainless steel that can withstand the harsh, seawater environment of the Maeslantkering. These Cable carriers mounted on both the northern and southern dock doors. Because the cable package could not be disconnected, the two Cable carriers were constructed Cable carriers on site around the cables. This ensured efficient and rapid installation, while guaranteeing the reliability of the cables.
Result
The installed Cable carriers now Cable carriers reliable protection for the cables of the Maeslant storm surge barrier, even under harsh seawater conditions. This extends the service life of the cables and reduces the risk of malfunctions, thereby ensuring the effectiveness of the Maeslant storm surge barrier. Wisman Techniek Cable carriers also responsible for the preventive maintenance of these Cable carriers , ensuring that the installation will always remain operational in the future.
Wisman Techniek remains committed to innovative and robust solutions that contribute to the sustainability and operational safety of important infrastructures such as the Maeslant storm surge barrier.
