Challenge

The swing bridges at Sas van Gent and Sluiskil presented complex cable management requirements. Due to the unique rotating mechanism of the bridges, the cables had to be routed safely and efficiently without impeding the mobility of the bridges. This called for a solution that would fit within the limited space of the pivot axis and the special housing in which the cable carrier .

Approach

Wisman Techniek has opted to install Cable carriers , special Cable carriers Kabelschlepp (model S1250), in the pivot axis of the swing bridges. These Cable carriers mounted in a special housing that protects the cables, while the limited accessibility of the pivot axis posed an additional technical challenge. The Cable carriers equipped with special running and guide wheels, which ensure smooth and reliable operation, even in this restricted and dynamic environment.

Result

Thanks to Wisman Techniek's innovative approach, the cables are now optimally protected and efficiently routed, without hindering the movement of the swing bridges. The use of round runners has contributed to improving the reliability and durability of the swing bridges, particularly in challenging working conditions such as those on the Sas van Gent and Sluiskil swing bridges.

This solution ensures that the swing bridges can operate safely and continuously, while the cables are well protected against wear and damage.
