01 · Challenge
Challenge
At a beach pavilion on Texel, the experience is everything. To let guests enjoy themselves to the full even in changeable weather, an impressive sliding glass roof was chosen. The challenge, however, is not only the weight of the glass, but above all the environment. At a location this close to the North Sea, you have to deal with high concentrations of salt and sand and a constant sea breeze. For the electrical control of the roof segments, Maarten Zeypveld of VEM Installatie Techniek was looking for a way to guide the cables safely and smoothly. A standard solution would quickly fail under these corrosive conditions, so a specific type of cable management was needed.

Solution
Because Wisman Techniek has been the world's first official partner of Tsubaki Kabelschlepp since 1975, we know exactly which cable carrier belongs in which environment. In consultation with the customer, we looked at the installation space and the required stroke of the sliding roof. For this specific outdoor location, we recommended plastic cable carriers from the UNIFLEX series. These cable carriers are lightweight yet extremely robust and resistant to corrosion from salt water. They are also designed to run smoothly with little noise, which is essential for the relaxed atmosphere of a beach pavilion. Thanks to our short lines of communication, we were able to act quickly and offer a suitable configuration that was immediately ready for installation.
03 · Result
Result
The result is a flawlessly working sliding roof, with the technology completely out of sight but doing its job very effectively. The supplied cable carriers ensure that the drive cables do not get tangled or damaged while the roof opens and closes. Thanks to our expert advice in advance, VEM Installatie Techniek was able to complete the project smoothly without delay. The pavilion is now ready for the summer season, with a roof that can be adjusted to the weather at the push of a button. Do you also have a challenge where cables need to keep moving in difficult conditions? We are happy to help you find a custom solution.
