Split cable glands.Connector on, cable through.
An ordinary cable gland needs a cable without a plug. A split cable gland opens up: you place the pre-assembled cable in it, close the gland and screw it into a standard metric hole. No soldering, no new connector, no risk of errors.

Split cable glands
- For
- Cables with and without pre-assembled connector
- Assembly
- In a metric hole, split housing
- Variants
- Straight, 90° and with click system
- Cables
- One or several per gland via grommets
Split cable glands combine the shape of a classic gland with the freedom of a split system. The housing consists of two halves; entry grommets clamp inside that close precisely around the cable. This lets cables with connectors pass through an M20 to M63 opening without having to remove the plug.
By combining several small or multiple cable grommets, you route several cables through one cable gland. For right-angle entry there are 90° versions, and with the click system of the DESCLICK, installation takes seconds.
When
When do you choose split cable glands?
- 01Cables are already assembled
- Sensor, bus and motor cables come with a connector. You don't want to cut them through or reconnect them.
- 02There is already a round hole
- The cabinet or machine has metric holes. A split cable gland fits without a new cut-out.
- 03Few cables per opening
- One to a few cables per entry. For large bundles a frame or entry plate makes more sense.
- 04Service has to be quick
- Replace a cable without dismantling the whole entry: open, swap, close.
How to choose
From cable list to the right model
Send your cable list. We choose the model and size and check that everything fits.
Send your cable list01Count the cables and measure the diameters
The outer diameter of each cable. This determines which entry grommets you need and how many fit in one gland.
02Determine the hole size
Existing bore (M20, M25, M32, M40, M50, M63) or free choice. The opening diameter is in the table per model.
03Straight or right-angled
With little space behind the cabinet wall or a cable that has to go straight down: choose a 90° version.
04Speed of assembly
Many cable glands in series? The click system of the DESCLICK saves assembly time per piece.
