Is an entry plate as tight as a cable gland?

The double-membrane plates were developed as a replacement for industrial cable glands and offer a high IP rating plus strain relief. The exact value is given per model in the datasheet.

Can cables with connectors go through an entry plate?

Not through the membrane plates. For that there are the DES PDP entry grommets (M25 to M75), split cable glands or cable entry frames.

Which plate is suitable for food and pharma?

The DES PDM Clean versions. They have rounded shapes without sharp edges and are made of FDA-approved material.

How many cables fit through one plate?

That differs per model, from a few large cables to more than a hundred thin ones. The variant table shows the number of openings per diameter range for each version.

Which entry do I use for a single thick cable?

A pyramid grommet: the Icotek KEL-DPF for cables from 3 to 70 mm in M25 to M85, or the KEL-ULTRA flex for cables from 25 to 115 mm.

Which cable entry plate achieves IP68?

The Icotek KEL-DPU and the round KEL-DPZ, among others, achieve IP66/IP68. The rating per model is listed with the series.

A cable entry plate replaces a row of glands with one plate with membranes. You pierce the membrane, push the cable through, and the second membrane provides strain relief and sealing. Faster to fit and more economical than separate glands.

Cable entry plates

For: Cables without connector (PDP: with connector)

Each opening in the plate has two membranes. The front membrane is pierced and closes around the cable; the second membrane clamps the cable and gives extra strain relief and a high IP rating. Nothing needs to be tightened.

When do you choose cable entry plates?

01Many cables without connector: Up to more than a hundred thin cables through one plate, instead of as many glands.

01Cut-out or round hole
Rectangular plates fit a standard cut-out; the M versions fit metric holes from M20 to M63.
02Count cables per diameter class
Each plate has a fixed layout of openings per diameter range. The table shows the number and Ø per model.
03Choose colour and material
Grey or black, and the Clean version for hygienic environments.
